Let's read Daniel 9:24.
Seventy weeks is all the time determined to Israel. Therefore, the prophecy runs from the going forth of the commandment to build and restore old Jerusalem until the revelation to Israel of the parousia of Christ and His Bride, the New Jerusalem, and their imminent descent for the Millenniel reign. Their revelation anoints the Most Holy, New Jerusalem, God manifest in His glorified Family, Who take their abode in the Millennium Temple of the 144,000.
God was to accomplish a sixfold purpose upon Daniel's people, Israel, and upon his holy city, Jerusalem. Seventy weeks of prophetic years were determined for their fulfillment and we understand from Scripture that 69 of those weeks have already expired so this sixfold purpose of God is to be accomplished in the seventieth week, after the Gentile Dispensation has ended.
1. Finish the Transgression:
Israel's transgression was rejecting their Messiah through Spiritual blindness. God blinded Israel. NOT individual Jews; the "nation" of Israel is blinded UNTIL the last member is in the Bride.
"Though Jesus did so many miracles, yet they could not believe" (John 3:2; 12:37; Acts 2:22). And although the Son of Man has revealed Himself in OUR day as He promised, and done "the greater works", far more of the SAME miracles He did the days of His flesh, that same spirit prevents men from believing (Luke 17:29-30; John 14:12). But God deals with Israel as a nation, Gentiles as INDIVIDUALS. Therefore we're WILLFULLY blind.
Romans 11:20-29, ". . . Be not high minded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, (which was Israel) . . . take heed lest he also spare not you. Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness: otherwise you too shall be cut off. And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graff them in again." (There is coming a time when the Gentiles will be cut off and Israel restored).
"For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, (Gentiles) and were graffed contrary to nature (we were contrary to nature, aliens, without the kingdom, without God, no hope at all; and God in His mercy to give us a chance, cut off Israel because of transgression . . .) into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which are the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?"
"For I would not, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part has happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in. (Israel is blinded until the last predestinated saint is baptized into the Bride). And so all Israel shall be saved: (12,000 from each tribe) as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: (God will gather the fruit from the grafted branch and cast the branch into the Fire). For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance".
Gifts and callings—the birthright promised to Abraham and his seed, is without repentance, It is the grace of God to ALL of His Seed by the baptism on the Holy Ghost (Galatians 3:16-29). God bound up the future of all nations and people in the history of Abraham and his seed. Therefore the history of the natural seed is prophetic (Genesis 3:12).
Romans 11:25-27 speaks of the Dispensation change. The Gentiles will be cut off, and Israel grafted back (Joel 2:32; Isaiah 4:3; 46:13). At that time, the Bible says, "His feet will stand upon the Mount of Olives—this is a SYMBOL, like Revelation 10:1-6, NOT a physical manifestation, and it's marked by an earthquake. The same earthquake that divides the Mount, sinks Los Angeles (Zechariah 13:8; 14:4; Isaiah 29:6; Revelation 16:18-19; 18:21-23). The city of Jerusalem will be divided into three parts—like the Temple which will be measured by the Word, according to Revelation 11:1-3. The outer court which is profane, the (Gk."Naos") or holy place, and the holy of holies, and so the people will be separated and 144,000 sealed with the Spirit of God.
When the earthquake strikes the Mount of Olives, all nations will recognize Israel is in her homeland, God with her. Then she will begin the sacrifice and rebuild the Temple.
Finishing the transgression will be to turn away ungodliness away from Jacob. Then all Israel will receive the Holy Spirit (Ezekiel 33:10; 39:23-34).
First, God is going to gather us as the fruit of the vine, so we'll be holy fruit, drawn from the holy root, which is the Lord Jesus, bearing the Life of that Root in its season (Romans 11:16-18; John 15:1-8).
2. Make an end of Sins:
Here is where Israel made his fatal mistake.
Matthew 27:21-25, "The governor answered and said to them, which of the two would you like me to release? They said, Barabbas.
Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus Who is called Christ? They all said to him, Let Him be crucified. (Now this is "Messiah the Prince" that Daniel said would come).
And the governor said, Why, what evil has He done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let Him be crucified. When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: you see to it".
Now here's Israel's sin!
"Then answered all the people, and said, HIS BLOOD BE ON US, AND ON OUR CHILDREN". And it has been ever since!
Jesus was making an end of sin for them; knowing they were blinded that we could come in, how could He but say, "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do!"
Although He fulfilled all Scripture spoken of Him, in their sin or unbelief, they crucified Him. So when people fail to see Serpent seed, Scriptural water baptism, or the true oneness of the godhead, don't be angry with them: they are blind and don't know it. Just pray for them.
Let us type out Israel's sin with their rejection of Joseph, and his revelation to them in Genesis 45 when he confronts his brethren in Egypt. Genesis 45:1-7, "Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren. And he wept aloud: and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard. And Joseph said unto his brethren, I am Joseph; doth my father yet live? And his brethren could not answer him; for they were troubled at his presence. And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt. Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that you sold me hither: for God sent me before you to preserve life. For these two years the famine has been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest. And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance".
Now doesn't that compare with Zechariah 12 just beautifully? Putting the two together we are bound to get it exactly right.
When Joseph was very young he was hated by his brethren because he was Spiritual. He couldn't help seeing visions, dreaming dreams and interpreting, because He was a prophet, it was in him. So when his brothers hated him, it was without cause. But he was beloved of his father who was also a prophet and understood. A perfect type of Christ. God loved His Son, but the brethren (Scribes and Pharisees) hated Him because He could heal the sick, do miracles and foretell the future, see and interpret visions. That was no reason to hate Him but they did, and like Joseph's brethren, they hated Him without a cause.
The sons of Jacob cast him into a pit. They took the coat of many colors his father had given him and dipped it in blood to make him think the boy was killed by some animal. They sold him to some slave traders who took him into Egypt and there he was resold to a general whose wife had him falsely imprisoned. Eventually his ability as a prophet brought him to attention and he was exalted to the right hand of Pharaoh with such authority that none could approach Pharaoh except through Joseph.
Now let's examine the life of Joseph while he was in Egypt, for it is here we see him as the perfect type of Christ. While in the house of the general he was falsely accused, punished and imprisoned without a cause, as happened to Jesus. There in prison he interpreted the dream of the butler and baker who were also prisoners with him. The butler was restored to life, the baker was condemned to death. Christ was imprisoned on the cross, forsaken by God and man. On either side of Him was a thief—one died, spiritually, the other was granted eternal life. And notice, when Jesus was taken off the cross, He was exalted into heaven and now sits at the right hand of the great Spirit Jehovah; and no man can come to God except by Him. There is ONE mediator between God and men, there are no Marys or saints, Jesus is all you need.
Continuing with this type we find in Joseph, notice how everything he did in Egypt prospered. His job with the general prospered. Even the jail prospered. And when Jesus returns, the desert will blossom as a rose. He is the "Son of Prosperity". As no age ever prospered as the one under Joseph, there's a time of blessing coming on this earth as the world has never known. In His presence is fullness of joy and on His right hand are pleasures forever more. Praise God!
Everywhere Joseph went, forerunners sounded a trumpet to announce his arrival (typing the seven angels to the Gentile Church Ages). People would scream, "Bow the knee to Joseph!" No matter what a man was doing, when that trumpet sounded, he bowed the knee. Were he selling in the street, reaching for his money, he had to stop and bend the knee when the Presence was announced by that trumpet call. And one of these days everything in time will stand still when the trumpet of God shall sound, and the dead in Christ shall rise and morning break eternal bright and fair. Everything will bow the knee then, for it is written, "Wherefore God also has highly exalted Him, and given Him a Name which is above every name; That at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father" (Philippians 2:9-11).
While in Egypt, Joseph was given a Gentile bride and through her received a family of two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh. As Jacob was about to bless them his hands crossed, so that the right hand fell upon the younger. Joseph cried out, "Not so, father, this is the first-born to your right." But Jacob said, "God crossed my hands". Here in type we see the blessing which belonged to the first-born (Israel) was given over to the younger (the Gentile) through the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ. The blessing comes through the cross. Galatians 3:13-14, "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree; That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith". Israel rejected the cross. The blessing of Abraham came through the cross to the Gentiles; therefore, Jesus got the Gentile bride.
Returning to the story of Joseph meeting his brethren. You recall that not all the brethren came. Joseph knew that and would not make himself known to them until all the brethren appeared before him. (As when Christ reveals Himself to Israel, ALL Israel will see Him together and be born in one day). Finally they brought Benjamin, the one that was missing. It was little Benjamin, the full brother of Joseph, that set his soul on fire. And when our Joseph, even Jesus, comes to the people who have kept the commandments of God and returned to Palestine, His soul will be set on fire. Benjamin typifies the 144,000 Israelites from all over the earth who have gone back to Palestine for their redemption. They will be standing there ready to receive Him, Whom to know aright is Life eternal. They will say, "This is our God for Whom we have waited." Then they will see Him Whom they have pierced. And cry out in dismay, "Where did these awful wounds come from? How did it happen?" And they will wail and cry, every family apart, everyone apart in the agony of sorrow.
The bride of Joseph with the two children were in the palace, for Joseph had commanded, "Let everyone leave me; put them all out from before me." And while Jesus is revealing Himself to His brethren, the Gentile Bride will be taken off the earth, caught up before the great tribulation to meet her Lord in the air. For three and one-half years while the retributive wrath of God is poured out, she will be at the great Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Then He'll return, leaving His Bride in "His Father's house," while he makes Himself known to His brethren.
At this very time, the antichrist covenant that the Jews have made with Rome will be broken. Rome and her allies then send their troops to destroy all the God-fearing, Word-abiding Jews (Revelation 11:3-13). But as they come against the city to destroy it, there will appear in the heavens the sign of the coming of the Son of Man with His mighty armies to destroy them who have been destroying the earth. Then the ten European nations which gave their support to Rome—five from the former Eastern Bloc, and five from the West, will hate the whore and blast Vatican City off the map. Then Russia will destroy the USA (Revelation 17:12- 18:20; 19:1-3; Isaiah 66:1-18; Jeremiah 25:31; Ezekiel 38:14-23; 39; Joel 2:32; 3:1-21). This is the time of Israel's parousia.
With the enemy repulsed, Jesus then comes and presents Himself to the 144,000. By faith, NOT be sight. Having seen His mighty acts of salvation, they have come to know His power. But seeing His wounds and knowing that they had rejected Him even to that moment, causes them to cry out in the agony of terror and fear, even as their brethren of old when they stood before Joseph, being sore afraid that they would be killed. But Joseph said, "Don't be angry with yourselves. It is alright. God was in it all. He did it to preserve life." Even so will Jesus speak peace and love to them (Zechariah 12:10-13:9).
"For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall MAKE AN END OF SINS"—unbelief (Romans 11:27). So All Israel shall be saved.
3. Make Reconciliation for Iniquity:
Iniquity is wickedness. Christ made reconciliation on Calvary, but it was not applied to Israel because He had blinded the nation, so we could come in. But the Gentile church of THIS day is without excuse, for "the mystery of God is finished." They are WILLFULLY blind, and their names will be removed from the Book of Life. Jesus said, "If you believe not that I am he, you will die in your sins" (John 8:24).
Zechariah 13:1, "In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness". And that word uncleanness means "impurity" as in idolatry. The faith which reveals Messiah to Israel will cleanse and reconcile his soul in a new birth as it regenerated our souls.
Zechariah 13:6-7, "And one shall say to Him, What are these wounds in Your hands? Then He shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends. Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is My fellow, (or My associate) saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones".
Jesus quoted the first part of this on the Mount of Olives: "Then said Jesus, You shall all be offended because of Me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad. But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee" (Matthew 26:31-32). This prophecy came to pass almost immediately, as the chief priests and elders arrested Jesus, and the disciples were dispersed (Matthew 26:55-57, 69-75; Acts 8:1).
It took some 40 years from Calvary to Titus to "scatter" the elect so the Gospel would be taught in all nations (among the Gentiles). Remember, Israel is only promised a blessing so long as he is in the Land. And it's taken another 40 years since 1948 for God to force Israel back to the Homeland for the Blessing. Now he's in the Land, a nation; the Church is called, and the Bride taken out, just waiting for the translation. Soon God will gather 144,000 out of Israel by the Feast of Trumpets.
The remainder of that Scripture was not quoted by Jesus because It did not apply to His day: "and I will turn My hand upon the little ones. And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on My Name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is My people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God" (Zechariah 13:7-9).
When will He turn back to the little Benjamin group? When reconciliation for iniquity has been made. All Israel shall be saved. Malachi 3:3-4:4 tells the same story. As soon as Israel recognize Messiah, the nation is born in one day.
Isaiah 66:8, "Who has heard such a thing? who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children".
But they'll never see It until the latter rain when reconciliation is made for their Spiritual uncleanliness, their iniquity.
4. Bring in Everlasting Righteousness:
Israel's blindness is removed when his transgressions have come to an end. When the cup of iniquity of the Amorites (or Gentiles) is full and they are cut off, Satan cast out, and Israel grafted back in (Revelation 12:1-17). When everlasting righteousness comes in, Satan is bound in the bottomless pit.
"And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: (That's Israel, the Orthodox Church clothed in the Glory with the Law under her feet, she's crossed over and has the revelation of the twelve apostles—Matthew 19:28).
And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon (Satan through Rome), having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads (Revelation 17:3, 9-11). And his tail (false prophecy) drew the third part of the stars of heaven (Shem — Israel—Romans 11:25), and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. (That was Herod who sought to destroy the infant Jesus—Matthew 2:13-18).
And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne (Psalm 2:7-9; Acts 1:9; Revelation 2:27; 19:15).
And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world (Revelation 13:8; 17:8) he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him". (And he incarnates the pope and sits in the temple as if he were God, forgiving sins, etc., Revelation 13:1-8. This is the Dispensation change and Seventh Trump, where the pale horse rider rides on to perdition). "And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Therefore rejoice, you heavens, and you who dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time. And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, (Old and New Testaments) that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, (three and a half years) from the face of the serpent.
And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood (armies or multitudes) after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." Israel overcome by faith and prayer, then the 144,000 are martyred (Daniel 7:21, 25; Revelation 6:11; 11:7; 13:7).
Once Israel is born again and sinners destroyed from the face of the earth, the Millennium begins. Everlasting righteousness is automatic because Satan is bound.
Revelation 20:1-3, "And I saw an Angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. (This is another SYMBOL. This Angel is CHRIST and the chain is a chain of CIRCUMSTANCES).
And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season." (Satan's subjects are all in the grave so he is powerless until the general resurrection).
So the righteousness is only "everlasting", and not Eternal, until Satan and his subjects are cast into the Lake of Fire after the White Throne Judgment. But immediately after he is sealed up, "the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea" (Habakkuk 2:14). So when the enemy has been put away, the end of sin has come, Satan is sealed up in the bottomless pit, the knowledge of the Lord shall cover the earth as the waters cover the sea, and everlasting righteousness is brought in.
5. To Seal up the Vision and Prophecy:
Daniel 12:1-4, "And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great Prince Who stands for the children of your people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation (that's when "the prince that was to come" who breaks his covenant in the midst of the week, comes) even to that same time: and at that time your people (144,000 elect in the end-time) shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt (at the second resurrection).
And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever (ie. eternity).
But you, O Daniel, SHUT UP THE WORDS, AND SEAL THE BOOK, EVEN TO THE TIME OF THE END: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased". (And it is increasing so rapidly, we cannot keep pace).
Daniel saw the vision and prophecy of Israel's redemption, but the Angel sealed the mystery to his understanding, for it was to be revealed only in the end-time after Christ opened the Seven Seals and revealed their mystery to the Gentiles through their seventh angel. Israel can still read It but will not comprehend until God removes their blindness when their Seven Trumpet mysteries are revealed through the two witnesses (Romans 11:25).
Now here we have a "time key." The Book Which was sealed unto the time of the end was unsealed by Christ in 1963 and revealed to the Gentiles by the prophet-messenger to the Laodicean Church Age. We know therefore that WE are in "the end time." ISRAEL'S "time of the end" is in the seventieth week when the prince out of Rome is revealed making himself as God (Isaiah 14:12-14; Daniel 9:27; 11:36; II Thessalonians 2:3-8). Daniel had earlier seen this vision by the River Ulai, which was sealed till the time of the end (Daniel 8:16-27).
Those two prophets who witness to Israel will "seal up" (as with a signet) or "reconfirm" the New Covenant Christ has already confirmed by His rejected Ministry, crucifixion and Resurrection, sealing of 144,000 by the baptism of the Holy Ghost when they see It.
The prophetic vision, or Book of Redemption, is sealed from Israel by their unbelief, under the Seven Trumpet Mysteries of Revelation until three and a half years after the Gentile Dispensation. Then the pale horse rider "the scatters the power of the holy people"—the anointed "Moses" and "Elijah", who are killed, and martyrs all who are saved.
Daniel 12:4-10, "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: (. . . For Israel, this means the end of the seventieth week) . . . many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river. (Moses of the Law and Elijah of the New Testament).
And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders? (or signs).
And I heard the man clothed in linen, Who was upon the waters of the river, when He held up His right hand and His left hand unto heaven, and sware by Him that lives for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; (42 months—that's when the mystery's going to be revealed to Israel) and when he (the antichrist) has scattered the power (or ministry) of the holy people, ("Moses" and "Elijah"—that's when he breaks his covenant in the middle of the week), all these things shall be finished (Revelation 11:3-7; 13:15-18).
And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the TIME OF THE END.
Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand" (by the Trumpet mysteries—Revelation 10:7; Acts 3:21. This is the real true Holy Ghost sealing).
Now the prince that stood up to cause the abomination in AD 70 was Imperial Rome, through Titus. This time the prince is Papal Rome, making himself God as II Thessalonians 2:3-12 informs us:
"For the mystery of iniquity does already work: only He who now letteth will let, until He (the Holy Ghost manifest in His Bride) be taken out of the way (at the first Resurrection).
And THEN shall that Wicked One be revealed (when the Holy Ghost is lifted), whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders (consolidating Protestants and Catholics in a world council of churches—Revelation 13:14, and converting the Jews to Catholicism), And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. (They loved the historical Jesus but hated Christ, the revealed Word, crucifying Him unto themselves afresh).
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie: (the same lie Satan told Eve in the Garden—"O, God's a good, God, He loves you so much, surely He would not let you die". . .) That they all might be DAMNED who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness".
Now incarnate by Satan, the pope causes the sacrifice and oblation Israel has restored in the last days, to cease, when he breaks the covenant he has made with Israel, and the apostate Jews become Roman Catholic.
The 144,000 shall flee from persecution by the enemy (Zechariah 14:5, 13; Ezekiel 38:21; Haggai 2:22). We learn from Revelation 7:1-8 that God had withheld their slaughter and the destruction of Armageddon until they were sealed by the revelation of Daniel's vision and prophecy (Daniel 11:35; Revelation 6:11).
6. Anoint the Most Holy:
Gabriel revealed the entire history of God's future dealing with Israel, from the going forth of the commandment to build and restore Jerusalem in 445BC, to the seventieth week when the Kingdom is completely restored, the Millennium set in, and the Most Holy anointed.
I believe about 25% of America's GDP comes from California. Most of the people, the land, factories and farms that produced this wealth will be beneath the sea in a moment of time at the close of the Gentile Dispensation. The $US, now supported by her creditors, (bonds, etc.,) will fail. Catholics control industry and the Gold, whilst "Jews" control commercial paper: insurance and banking. When the $US fails, America won't be permitted to replace her currency, because it would disadvantage these interests. Rome, and Israel will make an alliance with the USA to refinance the dollar, and the Bible says, "craft will prosper".
When Los Angeles sinks beneath the Pacific, marking the end of the Gentile Dispensation, the Mount of Olives will cleave asunder, destroying the Mosque of Omar, known as Dome on the Rock, the abomination that sits on the Temple site, making it desolate or unclean. Moslems would die to prevent reconstruction of Israel's Temple on the Mount. Judao-Christian organizations will all come together to constrain Russia and the Moslems; the Protestants will form an image unto the beast through the World Council of Churches, and the ten nations which comprised the old Roman Empire will form a pact under Rome—ostensibly to constrain Communism.
The UN has already declared Jerusalem an international city, and as Medo-Persia assisted Ezra to restore the Temple in Jerusalem, they will co-operate with the denominations in bringing Israel back to their Temple worship again.
Following the sinking of California, five former Eastern bloc, and five West European powers will reunite, sending Russian troops back home and restoring peace. Through the UN, of which Vatican City is a member state, these will cede their power and strength to the beast, the pope—now incarnate by Satan (Daniel 7:20-21; Revelation 12:7-13; 17:10-13).
In the midst of the week, when Rome has the world's commerce under her control, she will break her covenant with Israel, causing the sacrifice and oblation Israel has restored, to cease, and enforce Catholicism, persecuting both Protestants and Jews (Daniel 9:27; Revelation 12:13-17). Rome will kill those two anointed prophets who have disrupted nature and cursed the earth (Revelation 11:3-6). Their bodies will be publicly displayed in Jerusalem for three and a half days, then physically resurrect and ascend to heaven in sight of their enemies.
Rome and her allies then send their troops to destroy all God-fearing, Word-abiding Jews. But as they come against the city to destroy it, there will appear in the heavens the SIGN of the coming of the Son of man with his mighty armies to destroy them who have been destroying the earth. With the enemy repulsed, Jesus reveals Himself to the 144,000 by FAITH, not sight. This is their "parousia" of Revelation 19, Ezekiel 40-48, and Daniel 2.
Zechariah 12:9-14, "And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon Me Whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for Him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon (where righteous King Josiah was mortally wounded, quenching all hope for the declining kingdom). And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart; the family of Shimei apart, and their wives apart; All the families that remain, every family apart, and their wives apart." (Mourning in Israel will be universal, from the civil and ecclesiastical classes, to their remotest members (Revelation 11:18; 16:21).
Revelation 19:1, "And AFTER these things (after this tribulation, after the woes, after the seals, after the plagues, casting out of Satan, Trumpets, and after the setting-up of the Millennium). . . I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Allelujah, the salvation, and the glory, and the honor, and the power, is due unto the Lord our God: for He HAS judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and HAS avenged the blood of His servants at her hand" (Revelation 6:10). That's the ending of the Catholic church we spoke of earlier). "And her smoke rose up for ever and ever . . ."
After Israel sees His mighty acts of salvation, they have come to know His power. Now, seeing He was wounded for their transgression and bruised for their iniquity, they catch the revelation of the Son of David returning with His Bride to destroy His enemies without hand, and by their faith, crown Him "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS" (Revelation 19:1-16).
The Most Holy is NOT Jesus, He was anointed for His ministry after His baptism in the Jordan. The Most Holy is NOT the Temple, Moses "anointed the tabernacle and all that was therein, and sanctified them" (Leviticus 8:10-12).
II Chronicles 5:13-14 describes the dedication of Solomon's temple when the Holy Spirit took His abode: "It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For He is good; for His mercy endures for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord; (And "as the Seven Trumpet Messages make one sound," the 144,000 will be born again with that common faith—Acts 2:1). So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God".
When Zerubbabel dedicated his temple, it was not anointed again; Moses' anointing, like your new birth, was for all time (Ephesians 4:30).
Isaiah (66:1-3) has in mind the returning exiles, when he asks, "What house will you build Me?" And the new heavens and new earth where there will be no temple. For in fact God had already disclosed to the returning exiles that His house should be rebuilt in Jerusalem (Isaiah 44:21-28; Ezra 1:2; Haggai 1:2-14). But the earthly Temple did not "contain" God in its Holy of Holies and was merely the place where God revealed Himself.
The Most Holy Place IS the sanctuary where He dwells alone between the Cherubim, and this time Christ will sit in the Most Holy Place with the anointing on Him, and He will be the Light, the anointed One—Husband and Wife. The Most Holy will BE the Temple where we'll live with Christ during the Millennium. The city which has been a curse for two thousand years IS the Most Holy Place and descends from God out of heaven.
According to Luke 21:24, "Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled". The times of the Gentiles came in when Nebuchadnezzar led the first of the Jews into captivity in 606BC, and ends when Jesus, the Stone cut out of the mountain without hands, smites the image, in the feet, and returns to reign as Son of David.
Now the "times of the Gentiles" must not be confused with the "Dispensation of the Gentiles" or Pentecostal Feast. According to Revelation 16:18-19, the Gentile Dispensation ends with a massive earthquake: "And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. And the great city (Jerusalem) was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell (Los Angeles, etc): and great Babylon (Rome) came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath". One is political and the other is Spiritual.
This earthquake will destroy the Dome of the Rock or the Mosque of Omar which now stands on the Temple site, and divide the City of Jerusalem. Zechariah 14:4-8, "And His feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
And you shall flee by the valley of My mountains (which He has just formed by dividing the mount of Olives); for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yes, you shall flee, like you fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with Him.
(The earthquake in the days of Uzziah apparently occurred while the king was trying to force his way into the temple, against the protests of the priests, to offer incense on the golden altar; a similar situation will soon occur—II Thessalonians 2:1-12).
(Remember the prophecy of Jesus in Matthew 24:8, concerning "earthquakes in divers places" under the Fourth Seal? The Fourth Seal closes, and the Sixth Seal opens, with "a great earthquake." This is confirmed by Isaiah 29:6—"You shall be visited of the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire").
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.
And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former (Dead) Sea, and half of them toward the hinder (Mediterranean) sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. (The Gospel going out to both Jew and Gentile—Ezekiel 47:1-12; Joel 3:18; Zechariah 13:1; Revelation 22:1).
And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one".
Now Ezekiel 40-48 describes the restoration of the Theocracy. The City will be south (Lamagsand) of the temple, which according to Ezekiel 48:10, 20-21, will be located near Shiloh where the Tabernacle rested after the Children of Israel conquered the Land, and where it remained until the Temple of Solomon was finished. A "highway" shall lead from the Sanctuary to the new city (Isaiah 35:8; Ezekiel 47:12; Revelation 22:1-2).
"Living waters" in the Spiritual, speak of the Waters of Life, but in the natural, they will have their source NOT in Jerusalem. The life-giving spring from which they flow will be located under the "Sanctuary" of the Millennium Temple.
The new Temple will be almost one mile square, many times larger than Solomon's Temple. No such building as Ezekiel so minutely describes has ever yet been built and the Shekinah Glory that departed from the Temple at the Time of the Babylonian Captivity (Ezekiel 10:18-28; 11:22-23) will anoint the Most Holy:
"Afterward he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looketh toward the east:
And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and His Voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with His glory.
And it was according to the appearance of the vision which I saw, even according to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city: and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell upon my face. And the glory of the LORD came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east.
So the Spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and, behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house. And I heard Him speaking unto me out of the house; and the Man stood by me".
"Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, backsliding Israel, says the LORD; and I will not cause My anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, said the LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever.
Only acknowledge your iniquity, that you have transgressed against the LORD your God, and have scattered your ways to the strangers under every green tree, and you have not obeyed My voice, said the LORD.
Turn, O backsliding children, said the LORD; for I am married unto you: (their eyes were blinded that the Gentiles might receive grace) . . . and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, (all Israel is not Israel, just 12,000 from each tribe) . . . and I will bring you to Zion:
And I will give you pastors according to My heart, who shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
And it shall come to pass, when you are multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, said the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.
At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; (as He will be there) . . . and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart".
And the name of the City from that day shall be, "Jehovah Shammah"—the Lord is there (Ezekiel 43:1-5; 48:35; Daniel 9:24). And the King will come and take His throne for a thousand years:
Isaiah 65:17-25, "For behold I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying. (Israel rejoiced at the Feast of Tabernacles. The anointing is the joy of the Lord).
There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.
And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and My elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
They shall not labor in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.
And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My HOLY MOUNTAIN, saith the LORD".
This is "the GREAT MOUNTAIN" of Daniel 2, "the Kingdom of the Lord which filled the whole earth." We see It in Isaiah 2:2; Jeremiah 3:17; Ezekiel 40:2; Micah 4:1; Zechariah 14:10 and Revelation 21:10. Israel's parousia reveals the Son of David and they crown Him King of Israel and rejoice in their King and His salvation.
Isaiah 11:1-9 "And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots (Christ is both Root and Offspring): And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
And shall make Him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and He shall not judge after the sight of His eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of His ears: But with righteousness shall He judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and He shall smite the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips shall he slay the wicked.
And righteousness shall be the girdle of His loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My HOLY MOUNTAIN: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea".
After this, the Bride appears in Revelation 19, arriving with Her Bridegroom, the Mighty King, to complete the seventy weeks.
We must always remember that John represents the end-time Bride who is receiving a preview of the "things that shall be hereafter" (the Seven Church Ages). Now we are going to see a preview of what happens "after these things" described in Revelation 17-18, the trumpets, vials, casting out of Satan, the sinking of California and the destruction of Rome.
"And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; the Salvation (or deliverance), and the glory, and the honour, and the power, unto the Lord our God (Hebrews 2:6-7): For true and righteous are His judgments: for He has judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand (Revelation 6:10; 18:24).
And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever. And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia".
"Alleluia" is a HEBREW exclamation meaning, "Praise Jehovah". The word is first found in connection with the installation of the ark in Zion when David appointed certain of the Levites to praise or Hallelujah the enthronement of the Ark in Zion (I Chronicles 16:4). Here in Revelation 19, the redeemed saints in heaven break out in glad Hallelujahs when they see it's time for Christ, the True Ark of the Covenant to make His triumphal return (John 3:29; Psalm 102:13-18; 113; 146-150). Their rejoicing is in response to the closing appeal of a voice from earth to thanksgiving, (Revelation 18:20), for the doom of the harlot city is already accomplished.
"And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all His servants, and you that fear Him, both small and great.
And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigns. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife has made herself ready".
A voice from the throne summons all the saints of His servant nation (Revelation 7:3; 14:2) and ALL who fear God to the glad service of thanksgiving, whereupon the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters and as the voice of mighty thunderings proclaim, "the Lord God omnipotent reigns"—the advent of the heavenly Jerusalem is at hand.
This many-membered Body of the Bride is ALL Christ's one Wife. Now the union between God and man, the consummation of His eternal purpose, is complete. The Church Age saints could not be made perfect without us. Now John, the Bride, sees a preview of Israel's parousia of the Bride.
"And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints".
"Righteousnesses" plural, meaning the "righteous acts and godly living" of the saints. This is not imputed but their own inherent righteousness. Their own part in union with and to Him. The saints have a righteousness imputed by faith without works, and the fruit of faith, consisting of works wrought in faith. Both are that adornment of the Bride by which she makes herself ready for the Judgment (or award) seat of Christ. This is her maturity for the manifestation of the sons of God. The testimony of Enoch.
"And he said to me, Write, Blessed are they who are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he said to me, These are the true sayings of God. And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See you do it not: I am your fellowservant, and of your brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy".
John, the Bride, rejoices, and even falls at the feet of Brother Branham in gratitude, when she sees the time of reward has come (Revelation 19: 7-10; Romans 14:1-12; I Corinthians 3:1-15; 4:5; II Corinthians 5:1-10; II Timothy 4:1).
What follows is the speedy removal of all that prevents the advent of the heavenly Jerusalem (Revelation 19:11-21)—Israel's parousia, the destruction of the antichrist kings and nations, the casting of the beast and false prophet into a lake of Fire, and the binding of Satan is an act of judgment, rather than a combat.
"And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness does He judge and make war".
"Heaven opening" signifies the revelation to Israel under the Sixth Seal which they "see" after the midst of the seventieth week (Matthew 24:29-30; Acts 1:11; II Thessalonians 1:7-10).
"His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: (This blood is that of the beast and his image already slain by Christ (Revelation 17:14 – 18:24; Isaiah 34:2-6; 63:1-6); and His name is called The Word of God".
"And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations (Moses and Elijah, cursing the earth and the harlot church—Revelation 19:15 is Revelation 11:5): and He shall rule them with a rod of iron (at the White Throne Judgment): and He treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS'.
The announcement of Revelation 19:1-9 was only anticipatory, of Israel's parousia; because first must come Armageddon and the binding of Satan (Revelation 19:11-20:3). The sixfold purpose of Revelation 6:1-19:21 is fulfilled, when the joy of the redeemed 144,000 recognizing the King and Queen returning anoints the Most Holy, the Millennium Temple whereof the Bride is made a pillar (Revelation 3:11-12).
Jesus spoke of His body as being the Temple of God (John 2:19-21).But as we are His Body: the true Church is the Temple of God by the Holy Spirit within us (I Corinthians 3:16-17). He is making the overcomer a pillar in that Temple, and a pillar is actually a part of the foundation for it supports the superstructure. That puts the overcomer right in with the apostles and prophets, for it says in Ephesians 2:19-22, "Now therefore you are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone; In Whom all the building fitly framed together grows unto an holy temple in the Lord: In Whom you also are built together for a habitation of God through the Spirit." Everything went through the DOOR, Jesus, and is a part of that Body or Temple.
In Exodus 25-31, Moses was shown a "pattern" for the Tabernacle (Heb. "tabnit"); as was Solomon for his temple (I Chronicles 28:11-19). Not only is this word absent in Ezekiel 40-42, but nothing is said of how it is to be built according to this description. The temple is "INSTRUCTED" again to Israel's true seed through the ministry of Moses and Elijah, to separate the profane. The temple entrances and gates symbolize who shall and shall not meet the requirements of God's election and no-one outside the Covenant community is granted admission (Romans 11:23-25; Revelation 11:1-3; 15:1-8). Only in the vision did this marvelous Temple exist; it was a sign of the restored Theocracy, and God's Presence in their midst. The City and Temple Ezekiel saw in the vision were without people—just SYMBOLS in a series of visions. It is not presented just in the heavenly realm as a model; it is already there in the Land of Israel.
The Water of Life flows from Jehovah's immediate Presence, symbolizing paradise regained, the restitution of all things spoken by the mouth of all God's holy prophets (Ezekiel 47:1-2, 8-9; Joel 3:18; Zechariah 13:1; 14:8; John 7:37; Revelation 22:1). Because "God is there", the Temple becomes a spring of life, welling up and spreading beyond the Sanctuary. The blessings of God's blessings in the City cannot be confined to that one place and bring life out of death. Whereas once the Most Holy was in the heavens, now God dwells with and in His people, Israel. bb940325.htm
