Entropy, and 'the Countdown'
Scripture: II Corinthians 4:4, ". . . the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the Light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them".
Satan is called "the god of THIS world": because Adam surrendered man's dominion over the earth to him at the fall. As a result, all are born by the way of this world, with the nature of this world, and must be born-again with a nature which is from above. We are born in darkness by a sexual desire, or lust, and must encounter and walk in the Light of the PRESENT Truth in order to be born-again and fulfil OUR promised part in the glorious gospel of Christ for THIS day.
Satan accomplishes worship by blinding men's eyes to truth and deceiving them to serve something of his own invention as their god. He turns our attention to the carnal desires of our spirit by affections, memory, reasoning, imagination, conscience; and of our flesh through our senses of sight, hearing, taste, touch or smell that contact the material world of which he is god.
Satan chose man's head as his throne. God chose his heart and soul which has only one sense—faith or unbelief. That's how we contact the realm of Spirit. If we choose wisdom and what we can physically discern, Satan has deceived us and received our worship through a creed and tradition against faith in the Word. Unbelief in the revealed Word of God is "Sin".
Romans 6:16, "Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness"?
Here's the choice: faith or unbelief. These two laws are set before each of us—obedience of faith to God's Law, and Life; or servitude to Satan's law, and DEATH. We must be not merely hearers of God's Word, but doers also. We may profess to worship God, but if at the same time we are obeying the law of Satan, we are reckoned as his subjects, and to him our prayers ascend.
Hence Satan is the god of this evil age. Jesus said, "Thus have you made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. You hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying, "This people draws nigh unto Me with their mouth, and honours Me with their lips; but their heart is far from Me." But in vain they do worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men" (Matthew 15:6-9).
Satan encourages us to fix our hopes upon THIS present age over which he presides, attempting to make PRESENT CIRCUMSTANCES as comfortable and as indulgent as possible. With the aid of various amusements and pleasures, banishing thought by excitement, using our best endeavours by means of occupying our mind and focusing our desires upon various sensuous and intellectual occupations and delights, substituting arts sciences and intellectual pursuits for spiritual aspirations, and countless ways of killing time which he has provided—to keep our thoughts from ever wandering to the glorious age to come when he will be bound.
This-evening we're going briefly back to the days of Noah, then we'll take a glimpse at the world as it is today, and the grace of God.
The two most basic and certain laws of modern science are the first two laws of thermodynamics (the science of the relation between heat and mechanical energy). The first speaks of "energy conservation"; affirming that although energy can be converted from one form to another—energy is neither being created nor destroyed at the present time, so the total amount remains unchanged. The second may be summarized as "entropy," or the unavailability of thermal energy for conversion to mechanical work. Although the total amount of energy remains unchanged, there is always a tendency for it to become less available for useful work. This is so in the case of an ocean wave or light from an electric bulb.
The proof of entropy is death—a process in which the highly developed order of the organism is reduced to a random and disorderly collection of molecules, or dust. Death is the penalty of unbelief in God's Word or sin. But the Supernatural power of God's Word is Spirit and Life. When applied by faith it can harness and overcome the laws of natural science which control nature since the fall, by an infusion of eternal energy.
Jesus said, "The thief comes not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have Life, and that they might have it MORE abundantly" (John 10:10). Jesus can take us beyond entropy.
This is the Greek word "Zoe," meaning God's Own Life. If we can receive an infusion of Zoe, into our soul, It will bring our mortal spirit under subjection to the Law of life, and our spirit will in turn bring that part of the earth wherein we live, our body, under submission such that when we speak, nature must OBEY us in the manifestation of the sons of God. And that's merely the "finishing school" for those who will change in the atoms.
That Life of God's revealed Word will manifest the third pull when It is released in the manifestation of the sons of God by the Bride of Christ under pre-eminence ... when Her thoughts are His thoughts. And when our glorified resurrected brethren appear to us, Zoe Resurrection Power will bring God's natural scientific laws under Its command. We will change in the atoms to young, beautiful glorified bodies that can never age or die or become sick and weary. Then by virtue of a law greater than gravity, as when Jesus walked upon the sea, we will march Heavenward, to meet Him in the air.
Jesus spoke to the little elect prostitute at the well about this Law of Life which is greater than the first two laws of thermodynamics when He "said to her, Whosoever drinks of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting Life" John 4:13-14. This was an energy that did not require conservation, because it is Life Itself, and cannot be subject to entropy. Like Brother Branham's artesian well, it keeps springing forth and giving more of itself, as symbolized by the River of Life that flows from the Throne in New Jerusalem (Ezekiel 47).
". . . Jesus stood and cried, saying, "If any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink. He that believes on Me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow RIVERS of living water". (But this spake He of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive . . .)".
Not a trickle, but RIVERS of Living Water. A MORE abundant Life than Dad and Mum could give. One that transcends even the laws of thermodynamics.
These laws of thermodynamics prove that natural selection and evolution of the species is an impossibility. According to these most basic and certain laws of natural science, time produces randomness, disorder, and chaos: precisely the opposite of the conditions required for evolution. In short, without the Supernatural there could be no life, let alone the universe in which life exists.
So in order to propose evolution, scientists must oppose themselves and their science. Scientists refuse to acknowledge the possibility of a universal Flood, and hence they deny God and seek to explain Him away by their theories of evolution over billions of years. If they acknowledged that there was indeed a universal Flood they could recognize the present earth was formed following SUDDEN CATASTROPHES, which also produced the coal, oil, placer deposits and fossils; defined the present continents, and formed earth's topography.
The flood legends are preserved in the records of nearly every people of the world (Deluge Story in Stone, Byron C. Nelson; Earth's Most Challenging Mysteries, Reginald Daly, p 47ff). The great torrents of waters from the heavens were not gentle, and fell continuously for forty days and forty nights all over the world, denuding the land of soil and working horrendous erosion in the rocks, excavating deep gullies. According to a Persian account, "The rain fell in drops as large as a bull's head and the flood rose to man's height above the earth' (Modern Discoveries and the Bible, John Urquhart, p 173ff).
The shifting of earth's axis at this time caused massive earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, that broke up "the fountains of the deep," releasing hot lava and subterranean waters, forming great tidal waves.
Psalm 104:5-9, "Who laid the foundations of the earth that it should not be removed for ever. You covered it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains. At Your rebuke they fled; at the voice of Your thunder they hastened away. The mountains rose; the valleys sank down to the place which You have founded for them. You have set a boundary that the waters may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth".
In order to permit the land to appear again, great tectonic activity had to take place, forming the continental and oceanic blocks. It seems that as the crust broke, earth contracted. The mountains rose and the valleys sunk in order to accommodate the great mass of waters. We see evidence in Seamounts, which are submerged land masses, flat-topped and therefore non-volcanic in formation, and in many cases more than 6,000 feet BELOW sea level. The continental shelves which mark the boundaries between the continental and oceanic blocks, have achieved their present form as a result of fault slippage at the contact of the continental and oceanic blocks of the earth's crust.
Mountain ranges and surface features of the earth are located in places where a deluge would be expected to deposit its sediment. Most of the strata were laid down in the course of A SINGLE YEAR under catastrophic conditions. Most mountains throughout the world, are capped by sedimentary rocks containing fossilized coral and shells from flood deposition.
Humboldt, exploring the Upper Orinoco by Canoe in Guiana in 1799 discovered rock pictures and hieroglyphic signs high up on the mountains. The natives told him that their ancestors in the time after the Flood came to the tops of these mountains when the rocks were still so soft that a man could trace marks on them with his bare fingers. From the highlands of Colombia to the Gorge of the Xingu, on the eastern side of Brazil's Matto Grosso, in Mexico, and Siberia, similar picture writings, some up to seventy feet tall, are found on high rocks, cliffs and canyons impossible to climb (Views of Nature, Baron Friedrich Alexander Humboldt, Bd1; Dead Men's Secrets, Jonathan Gray, p 32).
After the Flood the fertility of the soil and natural resources necessary to human progress were unequally distributed. And with the collapse of the canopy of water above the sky and a shifting in the earth's axis, the climate had changed. Earth would now experience wind, rain, hail and snow as heat was transferred causing currents of water and air. Seasons were introduced with extremes of hot and cold varying from the equator to the Poles and influenced by topography. The paradise that had been on earth before the Flood was no more.
Although Noah and his family came out with their antediluvian knowledge and doubtless a considerable reference library, until a large population could be re-established and infrastructure restored, their intellectual sophistication must have been in abeyance for centuries. Within Noah's lifetime, the rapidly increasing population sent out exploratory parties to undertake a resources survey of the whole earth. And they mapped every continent. As has been noted, sedimentary deposits were still soft and perhaps some of the mountain ranges were still thrusting upward when men explored the farthest quarters of the earth following the Flood.
Peleg, comes from the root word "palag", which means (literally or figuratively) "division" or to split (Genesis 10:25). This notice refers not to the general dispersion subsequent to the Deluge, but to the division of the Semitic family of Eber himself between the Abrahamic line in Peleg, who remained in Mesopotamia (there is a town named Phaliga at the junction of the Chaboras with the Euphrates), and the Arabic line in Joktan who migrated into Southern Arabia.
Mizraim, founder of Egypt means to "Delineate": draw a plan, or make representation with distances. It was no accident that Enoch built the Great Pyramid before the Flood as an indestructible datum post or trig station with reference to stars, planets and earth contained within its own dimensions. And Several maps linked with the ancient past, the Piri Reis and Reinal, for instance, are based on a circular projection with the focal point in Egypt.
These ancient map-makers measured in degrees, minutes and seconds of latitude and longitude, just as we do today (View Over Atlantis, John Mitchell, p 69, Notes on the Relation of Ancient Measures to the Great Pyramids, an appendix in Secrets of the Great Pyramid, Peter Tompkins).
On the Seventh Day, God created man SUDDENLY! An intelligent being like Himself; doubtless of superior intelligence to any man today. An amateur creator with prophetic understanding of nature and his Father's will. He placed man in a paradise in Eden, giving him dominion over the earth and all of its creatures which he had named. Adam was perfect and upright in his ways in the day of his creation (Ecclesiastes 7:29). Then God put him to sleep and made a woman from his bone, and He divided the feminish nature from the residue of his mortal spirit and placed it in the woman.
Now began God's grand experiment as He blessed the couple, placing them on trust, to multiply and fill and have dominion over the earth with one proviso, "DO NOT PARTAKE OF THE TREE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL".
Satan took his opportunity to deceive the woman, precipitating the Fall. The simplest version of liberty in society is that man should have no restraints at all. But this, of course, leads to anarchy and in effect destroys liberty.
The future of man for a condition of extreme liberty, and the worth of trust in the innate justice supposed to lie at the bottom of the human heart have ALREADY been tested by the Great Creator. Modern philosophers are urging a repetition of the experiment: but the history of the times of old proves the fallacy of their views. For the wickedness of man became great; all flesh corrupted its way upon the earth, and the earth was filled with violence.
Left to his own devices, not only is man incapable of recovering his innocence, but will rush madly down the hill of sensuousness and impious self-will until he finds himself engulfed in the abyss of perdition. The trial of freedom failed as proven by the destruction of the Flood.
Jesus prophesied, "as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man". The revelation of the Seven Seals in 1963 brought the Son of man back to earth in WORD Form; the conditions of Noah's day HAVE reproduced themselves and the world is ONCE AGAIN headed for the destruction of all life on earth.
Adam took life and turned it into death. Romans 5:12, "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned".
Now this is a bit of a tricky Scripture. When Adam stepped over the time line and the Life line to join Eve thus ensuring her redemption (for she was flesh of his flesh), he forfeited his dominion over nature until the FULL redemption of ALL of his elect descendants. The whole of creation became subject to sin's penalty of death when their master surrendered his rule to Satan. Romans 8 tells us even the animals are groaning for the Holy Spirit to be waved in the Bride signifying release and the Millennium.
We all inherited a worldly nature and physical death, because we're born through lust and not according to the Word, and must be re-born by faith in the Word for OUR day. So we're sinners to begin with: born in sin and shapen in iniquity and we require redemption.
"(For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law . . ." (Romans 5:13).
Living under the Law, the Hebrews understood: "sin is the transgression of the Law" (I John 3:4). Paul proves for those of them that could not separate the concepts of sin and law, that before the Law there WAS sin, as attested by the undeniable fact of death, and if there was death, then sin WAS IMPUTED, and therefore there must also have been law.
Psalm 119:89, "Forever, O LORD, Your Word (Law) is settled in heaven." So there was always a law, and it is declared in the stars.
Romans 5:14, "Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come".
Sin is not reckoned where there is no law, but as sin exists and it WAS reckoned in that there has been death since the Fall, there was law before the Law of Moses.
Romans 5:20, "Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound":
The PURPOSE of the Law of Moses was to PROVE sin is sin and to define it as such. Romans 7:7 "What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet". The Law exposed sin as sin and helped man to recognize it as sin. For instance Paul cites lust and covetousness.
I Timothy 1:9-10, "Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine".
God sent prophets. They were His justice and condemned man of wrong. The Law of death was the Commandments given on Mount Sinai. They told man he was a sinner, and to transgress God's Law was death.
Romans 4:13-16, "For the PROMISE, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the Law, but through the RIGHTEOUSNESS of faith. For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the PROMISE made of none effect: Because the Law WORKS WRATH: for where no law is, there is no transgression. Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all".
The Law was like a policeman, it could put you in gaol but had no redemption power which could bring you out. It worked God's wrath, and God certainly had law before that delivered by Moses. It contained works and ordinances but had no salvation. We can only apprehend the promise of God by the righteousness of the faith of Abraham's Seed, and that is the faith of Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:26). We cannot come to God by works.
Romans 4:4-5, "Now to him that works is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that works not, but believes on Him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness".
Christ overcame death and replaced it with Life. Romans 5:20, "Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound". Remember, the second law of thermodynamics stated there is a tendency to entropy, a state of weakness through chaos or "lawlessness." Christ came that we might become subject to the Law of Life, and that we might have It more abundantly.
"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit" (Romans 8:1-4).
God made a way by grace. When Jesus arose, He made those imprisoned by death captives of Life ". . . as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might GRACE reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 5:21).
We constantly fall short of the mark of our high calling, failing God, yet he abides faithful. And so long as we live in corruptible bodies of sin animated by our mortal spirit, we will continue to fall short.
But praise God, "If we believe not, yet He abides faithful: HE CANNOT DENY HIMSELF" (II Timothy 2:13).
The great mystery of marriage and divorce evidenced in Adam joining his wife in death so that she would be redeemed when God redeemed him was repeated in Christ's death, burial and resurrection. If we are truly born of Him, we are one (or in agreement with the Word by faith as Jesus prayed in Gethsemane (John 17:21-23) we are Word of His Word and even IF we believe not, YET He abideth faithful because He cannot deny His Own Body any more than Adam could deny his body, Eve.
So Paul continues to prove that it is all of grace through faith and not of works that any man should boast (II Timothy 2). When we testify to others of the great Blessing we have received and seek to share the mystery of God, let us not "strive for masteries" beyond the faith—we are to be God-pleasers, not men-pleasers. If we are unable to match the Bible knowledge and fine speech of the other fellow, never mind; only God can give the increase. If they are His own they will receive His Word by the faith of Jesus Christ. Maybe we have just planted a seed. All the foreknown those the Father hath, past tense given to Jesus will come to the Word.
But what grace He has given to us, "If we believe not, yet He abides faithful: He cannot deny Himself". bb950123.htm
