Bereft of faith, the wicked are doing wickedly and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise will understand.

California hit by Second Large Earthquake in Two Days
July 6, 2019 — Southern California residents were rattled Friday with an even stronger earthquake at 7.1 magnitude—the second shake in less than 48 hours after strong aftershocks rumbled through the region. The earthquakes are the most powerful to hit the region in 20 years, which was felt by more than 20 million people . . . There have already been more than 80 smaller aftershocks since Thursday's 6.4 magnitude quake near the city of Ridgecrest, which was felt from Los Angeles to Las Vegas . . . American Javelin Missiles found in Hands of Libyan Militants
July 2, 2019 — American anti-tank missiles have been found at a militant base in Libya, that's according to a report by a local arms-research group. Comment: The US is the image unto the beast of Imperial Rome; "The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms [as it is a church kingdom], and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces" by US and NATO military force after it has refinanced the USD with gold backing. And saints shall be given into his hand until" the close of the Gentile dispensation (Daniel 7:19-25).
Israel's Latest Strikes in Syria prove US-Russia-Israel Jerusalem National Security Summit a Success
July 1, 2019 — There's no more convincing proof that last week's historic National Security Summit in Jerusalem between Russia, "Israel", and the US was a success than the self-professed "Jewish State's" latest anti-Iranian strikes in Syria, which were more than likely approved by Moscow in advance as part of its regional "balancing" strategy in pursuit of a "New Detente".
"Israel" carried out several strikes against what media reports allege were IRGC bases in Syria around midnight on 1 July, defying popular expectations that this wouldn't happen ever again after Russia gave some very high-profile but nevertheless misleading statements about its supposedly "allied" commitment to Iran the week prior. The historic National Security Advisor Summit in Jerusalem between Russia, "Israel", and the US was widely described as a failure after Moscow defended Tehran's military presence in the Arab Republic and reaffirmed that the two are "allies", but that doesn't tell the full story because Russian Security Council Secretary Patrushev was only talking about their anti-terrorist cooperation in Syria and didn't mean anything more broadly than that.
The same goes for the Russian Foreign Ministry's envoy to Asian countries and in particular the presidential advisor on Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov's promise a few days later that Iran "won't be alone" if the US attacks it. Alt-Media interpreted this through its members' typical wishful thinking perspective to mean that Russia was implying a direct military intervention against the US in support of Iran if a conflict were to break out, when in reality he was most likely talking about the political and moral support that the rest of the world would extend to the Islamic Republic in that scenario. Shortly after, a Russian official told Sputnik that "we are open to discussions" with Iran about selling it the S-400s, which was also wrongly reported in the outlet's own headline as "Russia ready to deliver S-400 to Iran" when it literally only signalled its interest in starting talks about this . . .

The Lie of the Century
June 30, 2019 — Mr. Jared Kushner, the son-in-law and Senior Advisor of President Trump has delivered 136 pages of lies, suppositions and conjuring tricks to seduce or compel us Palestinians to accept our fate and surrender our rights. What rights? As far as this document is concerned, Palestinians have no rights whatsoever, and, as for a Palestinian perspective, what is that?
The Palestinians were not even invited to Manama, let alone considered. What about the Israelis? . . . they were amply represented. What is Jared Kushner if not the team captain for the Greater Israel Project? After all, he is Jewish, an ardent Zionist, an investor in the illegal settlements in Palestine and an advocate, par excellence, for Israeli survival and supremacy . . . How could an occupier who seized our land by brute force be made a legitimate land-lord over us? . . . Isn't this what the 'Deal of The Century' is all about?

Comment: The CO2 conspiracy concerns global hegemony NOT climate. Professor Valentina Zharkova is one of the few who correctly predicted solar cycle 24 would be weaker than cycle 23—only 2 out of 150 models predicted this. Her models have run at a 93% accuracy and her findings suggest a Super Grand Solar Minimum is on the cards beginning 2020 and running for 350-400 years [Amos 8:11]. The last time we had a little ice age only two magnetic fields of the sun went out of phase. This time, all four magnetic fields are going out of phase.
Even if you believe the IPCC's worst case scenario, Zharkova's analysis blows any 'warming' out of the water. In summary: even if the IPCC's worst case scenarios are seen, that's only a 1.5 watts per square meter increase. Zharkova's analysis shows an 8 watts per square meter decrease in Total Solar Irradiation (TSI) to the planet. A Milankovitch cycle is a cyclical movement related to Earth's orbit around the Sun. There are three of them: eccentricity, axial tilt, and precession. These three cycles combine to affect the amount of solar heat incident on Earth's surface and subsequently influence climatic patterns. (See Newsletter 1056). Climate Change is a left hand deception to cause the right hand of the developed nations under the same head to de-industrialise, bankrupt their economies, depopulate and return to serfdom under one world government led by a Devil-incarnate pope of the Judaeo-Roman Universal Church. After seven years Judaeo-Communism, revived by the international banksters of the City of London, will exercise their Samson Option, annihilating Rome and the United States, then Armageddon will produce the consummation of Life, a cremation, not a burial.
James Joule's paddle wheel experiment proved that mechanical energy is converted into heat energy as the paddlewheel heated the water on spinning in it. We have thousands of ships on voyage on our oceans spinning their propellers for mechanical motion. Those energies just don't fade away. They are transferred into the ocean water which in turn contributes a little towards global warming. We have thousands of jet airliners flying around whose jet streams transfer heat to the atmospheric air. Energy is never lost but is always converted. But for green plants, entropy would proceed to a maximum and life would become impossible on earth. Since the only way of reversing entropy is through photosynthesis, we must grow more green plants, and trees, in order to protect our environment. Thus we need more, much, much more CO2 in the atmosphere.
The Torture of Julian Assange
July 1, 2019 — In a few days July 4th will be upon us . . . the United States most certainly is not is a democracy . . . the United States most certainly does not have an informed electorate. The American media, indeed, the entirety of the Western print and TV media, functions as a Propaganda Ministry for Washington and the ruling oligarchies . . . the presidents and high officials . . . are more guilty of war crimes than the German National Socialists who were tried at Nuremberg on ex post facto grounds in order to distract from the war crimes of the victorious allies . . . If I were a Rothschild
July 4, 2019 — Penguin announced this week that in response to claims of 'antisemitism' it has stopped printing Col. Pedro Baños' best selling book, "How They Rule the World." The scandal erupted when it was revealed that passages in the original Spanish edition of the book related to the Rothschild dynasty were omitted from the Penguin Random House English translation. The meaning of this deletion is in itself devastating. It suggests that Penguin attempted to kosherize a book by editing and deleting sections so it would not offend Jewish sensitivities.
The publisher initially rejected allegations that the book which claims to reveal "the 22 secret strategies of global power," is antisemitic. But after continued pressure from various organisations including the Campaign Against Antisemitism, Penguin commissioned an "external review" led by Rabbi Julia Neuberger.
The Jewish Chronicle (JC) 'reveals' that Col. Baños' original Spanish edition makes several references to the Rothschild family, including a passage accusing the banking family of holding "gigantic" economic power and influence which has "led to multiple speculations about their capacity to intervene in key global decisions". Is there a Pattern to the MH17 Blame Game?

The Fifth, Sixth & Seventh Days of Making the Earth
Having reduced the air and water to a habitable state on the second day, the Lord called the inhabitants of these elements into existence. Genesis 1:20-23, "And God said, Let the waters teem with countless creatures which have life [insects and all animals that have short legs or no legs, and are therefore unable to raise themselves above the soil but endowed with self-motion, breathing and living with sentient animal life unlike vegetable life of the third day], and let winged things [bats, butterflies, beetles, insects, as well as birds] fly above the earth in the open firmament [expanse] of [the first] heaven".
Contrary to speculation the firmament is not solid as birds fly therein; it consists of water vapour and the atmosphere we breathe. By volume, dry air contains 78.09% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.04% carbon dioxide, and small amounts of other gases. Air also contains a variable amount of water vapour, on average around 1% at sea level, and 0.4% over the entire atmosphere. On the second creative day God caused the sun's warmth to divide the waters by evaporation, raising various gases and water vapour above the earth to (Heb.) 'asah make from existing substance the firmament which God called "heaven." The firmament does not contain a single star: stars and planets constitute the celestial, sidereal or second heaven that we can see at night through the atmosphere or firmament of the first heaven. On the third creative day the sun continued its evaporative process until dry land appeared and waters proper drained into rivers, lakes and ocean basins. And the Water Vapour Canopy was forming, through which meteors might fall to earth, and rockets, had they been invented, would have passed en route to distant planets.
"The first heaven (II Peter 3:10; Revelation 21:1) is called, in the Scripture, like the clouds; in other words, down below, here on the earthly seal. Now, when that atmosphere from up in above the clouds becomes down into the church, that's a heavenly place. Then the second heavens is considered the solar system. And the third heavens (II Corinthians 12:2-4) goes beyond that" (William Branham, #61-0402, The True Easter Seal, p. 22:134).
"And God (Heb.) bara' created from nothing great whales [sharks, crocodiles, and sea monsters]. The principle of animal life is first communicated on earth to every living creature that (Heb.) nephesh draws breath, including insects that creep, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl [and flying thing] after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the [rivers, lakes, and] seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth." This blessing shows that the earth was replenished with animal life from a limited number of progenitors, and probably from a small number of centres, both for the flora and for the fauna. God gives His blessing, having placed them in conditions amenable to their development and multiplication. "And the evening and the morning were the fifth day".
The creation of marine animals came first because the water is a more quickening and a more primitive conditioning of life than the earth. And this holds true of the air. Land animals in their organization stand nearer to men than the birds. The birds of the heaven are assigned to the heaven, as the fish to the water as land animals to the earth. Yet apart from aquatic animals and insects—none of the flying creatures manifest until the seventh day (Genesis 2:19).
Genesis 1:24-25, "And God (Heb.) Elohim said, Let the earth bring forth the creature that lives by breathing, after his kind, cattle, [the dumb brute, especially the larger ruminants, which were soon domesticated, and became man's speechless servants, and beasts of burden], and small or low animals, and wild beasts of the earth [whose ravenous natures were then kept in check] after his kind: and it was so. And God (Heb.) Elohim made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps upon the earth [the smaller land animals, which move either without feet, or with feet that are scarcely perceptible, like reptiles, insects, and worms] after his kind: and God saw that it was good".
Genesis 1:26-31, "And God (Heb.) Elohim said, Let us (Heb.) 'Asah make man [from existing material] in our image [spirit], after our likeness [theophany]: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them."
God (Heb.) Elohim is plural word, yet God is a (one) Spirit: His thoughts are spirit, and when a thought is expressed it becomes a word. The sum of God's expressed thoughts is the Attributes of what He is (Gk.) Logos, which means "thought in speech," concept or (Eng.) Word. John 1:1-4, 14, "In the beginning was the Word/Logos, and the Word/Logos was with God/Elohim, and the Word/Logos was God/Elohim. This One existed in the beginning with God/Elohim. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was (Gk.) zoe [God's Own] Life; and the (Gk.) zoe [eternal] Life was the Light of men . . . And the Word/Logos was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth." Not a trinity but One God (Isaiah 44:24; Colossians 1:15-19; Hebrews 1:2; I John 1:1-2). Christians are those born again by "the present Truth" . . . what Jesus is doing NOW, "whose lives are the epistle of Christ, written with the Spirit of the living God in fleshy tables of the heart" (II Corinthians 3:3). We are God's Attributes manifest.
God's Word is the Holy Spirit in a form we can receive by faith. Your thoughts and my thoughts may fail or change, and our words may be wrong or insincere, but God's Word is Spirit and eternal Life and must come to pass in its designated decreed season and time. We receive new birth when we "feed" from Jesus Christ, "the Tree of Life." In God's mind He foresaw Christ crucified before the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8); in His mind's eye He also saw images of YOU, me and every child of Adam—spirit men and women in theophany. Brother Branham said, "He gave man the rulership over the Kingdom. And he governed the beasts like the Holy Spirit leads the Church today. But there was no man to till the soil. [This was God's imagination or foreknowledge (C.O.D., p. 313:639, 827-832; #64-0403, Jehovah Jireh II, p. 9:68-71)]. Then He put man in the image of man on earth, created him out of the dust of the earth" (#51-0729A, The Resurrection of Lazarus).
The "us" and "our" of Genesis 1:26 are God and Adam's children—the Book of Life in His foreknowledge. God's eternal thoughts sifted from Adam's race are the Attributes of what He is (Proverbs 23:7): you are in Christ's end-time Bride because you are an overcomer, YOU are a child of God on the Lamb's Book of Life and a minor god to whom Adam's dominion will be restored (Psalm 82:6; John 10:34-35; Revelation 1:6). No one can 'receive' eternal Life for "Eternal" is without beginning of days or end of time; one must be foreknown as chosen, justified, predestined and already glorified before "the beginning" (Romans 8:28-39). His elect were foreknown and chosen according to His foreknowledge of the decisions each will make of his own free will (John 15:16). Now God says to those He has created (Heb.) bara' from nothing but thought, "Let us make or fashion mankind in our image (Heb.) 'asah from existing material [Spirit (Colossians 1:15)], after our likeness [or appearance: theophany, not in the likeness of the lower creatures he has already made in His great thinking, but as near as can be in God's image—upright and with speech, commanding dominion to honour and express His dignity and radiate His glory], and let them have dominion . . . over all the earth . . ."
"When Adam lost his Life, he also lost his inheritance in life, because he had completely supreme control of the earth. He was a god of the earth. God is the God of the universe, everywhere. But His son had this earth under his own control. He could speak; he could name; he could say; he could stop nature; he could do anything he wanted to . . . Adam could say, "Let this mountain here be moved over there," and it would do it. Adam could say, "Let this tree here, be plucked up and planted over here"; it would do it (See?), for he had complete, supreme control, as a minor god under God our Father, because he was a son of God . . . if the Blood has cleansed it back, what about now? See? Look what that Son of God, the second Adam did (See?), and said, "The works that I do, shall you also" (The Breach between the Church Ages and the Seals, p. 83:1-3; John 14:12).
As God is omniscient He is not now thinking or even taking counsel with Himself. All His thoughts He has always had. "So God created (Heb.) bara' (Gk.) 'ex nihilo' out of nothing man in His own image, in the image of God He created (Heb.) bara' him (Gk.) 'ex nihilo' out of nothing; male and female He created them." Regardless of the colour of one's skin every man and woman of Adam's race is written in the Book of Life which is Adam's genealogy. We were all in His foreknowledge yet not one of us was physically formed (Heb) 'yatsar'—moulded or squeezed into shape.
Isaiah 55:11, "My Word that goes forth out of My mouth shall not return to Me void, but shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." So in Isaiah 7:14 we read, "the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, the virgin shall conceive, and bear a Son, and shall call His Name Immanuel." That command of God's creative Word went forth in about 742BC, however it was not until about 5BC that the chosen virgin received the Word and the last Adam began to be (Heb.) yatsar, squeezed or moulded into shape and drew his first breath nine months later.
Genesis 1 speaks of God creating (Heb.) bara' all things out of nothing but His great eternal thinking—speaking His creation through six (Heb.) yowms or periods of creation to (Heb.) 'asah make and prepare the world from existing material for man's habitation by command of His "Let there be." God's work was speaking His creative Word, yet it was not until the seventh day when God rested that His Word came to pass and He (Heb.) yatsar squeezed or moulded all the things He had spoken into physical form. As Jesus said, "My Father works hitherto, and I work" (John 5:17). Here we see a type of the six days in which man has laboured against sin, and which will be followed by a sinless seventh millennial day of rest. And we see Israel in the wilderness gathering a double portion of manna on the sixth day so as to observe their sabbath, a type of the Church which fed on new manna through six dispensations. In Laodicea Brother Branham gathered the loose ends of incomplete doctrine, ended the Reformation of the Judaeo-Roman Catholic system of false worship, roused the sleeping virgins and called Christ's end-time Bride to rest in the antitype of the Holy Convocation of the fiftieth day of Israel's Pentecostal Feast and form the Caagsone of His mystic Body.
We must not suppose that "the evening and the morning" were merely the sequence of the preceding darkness and of the light that followed it. Still less are we to think of the usual evening and morning since the earth had not yet been astrologically arranged. Evening and morning denote the interval of creative days of a thousand years, not solar days of twenty-four hours (II Peter 3:8).
"Male and female created He them. And God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth." The divine blessing pronounced upon man in beneficent supremacy with power in subduing the earth and ruling over "every living thing that moves upon the earth" differs from that of the lower animals. And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creeps upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. And God saw everything that He had (Heb.) 'asah made, and behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day".
The two most perfect kinds of food are given to man; while the birds and animals have not merely the cryptogamous plants of the first class, but every green herb granted to them for their sustenance, not that they did not eat seeds and fruits but the fundamental supply for the maintenance of animal life was the blade and leaf, and that of human life the perfected seed and ripe fruit. Man is thus from the first pointed out as higher than the animal; and the fact that his food requires preparation and cooking has been the basis, not merely of most of the refinements of life, but even of the close union of the family. For what would become of it without the common meal? And remember, sisters, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach.
The food originally assigned to man was vegetable; express leave to eat flesh was not given until after the Flood. Nevertheless the skins with which Adam and Eve were clothed on their expulsion from Paradise prove that animals had been already killed, and Abel's sacrifice of "the firstlings of his flock, and of the fat thereof," shows that He had the revelation that only a "near KINSMAN" could atone for sin "life for life," leads irresistibly to the conclusion that the flesh was eaten by the offeror and his family. In ancient times this was the rule. Flesh was not the staple of man's diet, but the eating of it was a religious ceremony, at which certain portions were offered to God and burnt on His altar, and the rest consumed by man as the Deity's guests. So we may well believe that until the Flood the descendants of Seth partook of flesh rarely, and only at a sacrifice, but that after the Flood a more free use of it was permitted.
Genesis 2:1-7, "Thus the heavens [firmament and atmosphere or visible sky of the first heaven and the earth were finished and all their host, [by the Word spoken over the six days of God's work]. And on the seventh day God Heb.) Elohim ended His work which He had made (Heb.) 'asah from existing material—His thoughts were expressed as Word; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made [by speaking the Word]. And God (Heb.) Elohim blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which He created [(Heb.) bara' from nothing but thought] and made (Heb.) 'asah from existing material, His spoken Word."
"These are the generations [genealogies or stages] of the heavens and of the earth when they were created [(Heb.) bara' from nothing but God's thoughts], in the [seventh (Heb.) yowm, period or] day that the LORD God (Heb.) YHWH Elohim made (Heb.) 'asah the earth and the heavens [from existing material], and every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God (Heb.) YHWH Elohim had not caused it to rain upon the earth [to make it fruitful], and there was not a man to till the ground. But [in the seventh day] there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole surface of the ground. And the LORD God (Heb.) YHWH Elohim formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul".
Do YOU see how God's thoughts (Heb.) bara', created out of nothing from eternity, then over six creative dispensations or periods His unchanging Word (Heb.) 'asah expressed His thoughts as Word, and finally on the seventh day He (Heb.) yatsar moulded or squeezed those things into material form?
"And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God (Heb.) YHWH Elohim had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. And [in the seventh day] the LORD God (Heb.) YHWH Elohim yatsar formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul".
Elohim is the general name for God as the Creator with omnipotent power. "YHWH" (in upper case) is Hebrew for "LORD," and is His personal Name used in relationship with His people. It is His absolute being—the source of everything, without beginning and without end. He is the self-existent One who reveals Himself as the "I AM." Some pronounce this as Jehovah or Yahweh, but Brother Branham said this is speculation: His compound redemptive Name is Lord Jesus Christ.
Read intelligently, the progress of time is carefully marked. In Genesis 2:6 the earth is watered by a mist: in paradise there are mighty rivers. Mist would not produce rivers; and if there were mist in the morning, and rain in the afternoon, a long period of time would still be necessary before the falling rains would form for themselves definite channels. A vast space must have elapsed between the mist period and that in which the Tigris and Euphrates rolled along their mighty floods. The narrative agrees with this: all is slow and gradual. God does not summon the Garden of Eden into existence by a sudden command, but He "planted" it, and "out of the ground He made to grow such trees as were most remarkable for beauty, and whose fruit was most suitable for human food." In some favoured spot, in soil fertile and fit for their development, God, by a special providence, caused such plants to germinate as would best supply the needs of a creature so feeble as man, until, by the aid of his reason, he has invented those aids and helps which the animals possess in their own bodily organisation. The creation of full-grown trees belongs to the region of magic. A book which gravely recorded such an act would justly be relegated to the Apocrypha; for the God of revelation works by law, and with such long ages of preparation that human eagerness is often tempted to cry, "How long?" and to pray that God would hasten His work.
Genesis 2:8-9, 15-17, "And the (Heb.) YHWH Elohim planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there He put the man whom He had formed [(Heb. yatsar, on the seventh day]. And [on the seventh day] the (Heb.) YHWH Elohim made every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food to grow out of the ground; the Tree of Life [Christ in theophany] also and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil [Lucifer] were in the midst of the Garden [they were not vegetation and they did not grow out of the ground] . . . And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it".
"And the LORD God (Heb.) YHWH Elohim commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the Garden You may freely eat: but of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, you shall not eat of it: for in the day that you eat thereof you shall surely die".
And next, as regards Adam. Placed in a garden, two of the rivers of which—the Tigris and the Euphrates—seem to show that the earth at his creation had already settled down into nearly its present shape, he is commanded "to dress and keep it." The inspired narrator would scarcely have spoken in this way if Adam's continuance in the Garden had been but a few hours or days. You will note that Adam was (Heb.) yatsar, formed or squeezed into shape on the seventh day, after which "God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air . . . and Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field." This might have taken a century, or more.
The Creator himself, in whose image Adam was made, had revealed Himself to him in language. This awakened social affection, indicated social capacity and accomplished the first step toward communication between kindred spirits when Adam heard and understood spoken language. Speech and language both spring full-formed, though not completely matured. Beyond all this God knew what was in the man whom He had (Heb.) yatsar or formed, and observed, "It is not good that the man should be alone." He is formed to be social, to hold converse, not only with his Superior, and being competent to instruct his wife in words and things also, with his equal. He needs a mate, with whom he may take sweet counsel. "I will make him a suitable help, the counterpart of his being—one who may reciprocate his feelings and take an intelligent and appropriate part in his active pursuits".
Meanwhile, Adam is himself searching for a partner, and in the hope of finding one, he studies all the animals around him, observes their ways, discovers many valuable qualities in them, makes several of them useful to him, but still finds none among them that answers to his wants. There is no suggestion that Mrs. Serpent appealed to Adam or that she attempted to seduce him, and Mr. Serpent did not seek to deceive Adam as he deceived and seduced Eve. Both knew that as a son of God he could not be tempted and fall. That would be impossible. When we read that "Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowls of the air, and to every beast of the field," we see that this careful study of the creatures around him must have continued through a long period before it could have resulted in their being thus generally classified and named in Adam's mind.
If the first man was able to give names conveying the peculiar nature and characteristics of the beasts and fowls. We must not confine this giving of names to the domestic animals, or to suppose a long procession of beasts and birds passing before the man, and receiving each its title. Rather, it sets him before us as a keen observer of nature; and as he pursues his occupations in the garden, new animals and birds from time to time come under his notice, and these he studies, and observes their ways and habits, and at length gives them appellations. By naming the animal kingdom as their rational superior, to whom they yield an instinctive homage, Adam took possession of his dominion before the appearance of the woman; so that she shared his lordship over creation, not in her own right, but as being bone of his bones and flesh of his flesh. Herein we may discern an evident type of the last Adam and His Bride, the Church, for though all things are hers, she will possess them through no merit or right of her own, but only as the Bride of Him Who is the Heir of all things (I Corinthians 3:21-23). At length Eve is brought, and his words express the lively pleasure of one who, after repeated disappointments, had at length found that of which he was in search. "This," he says, "this time is bone of my bones." The woman is different from all the animals, and is absolutely one with the man, taken out of this part, not out of the higher or lower parts, to show that she is neither to be her husband's mistress, to usurp authority over him (I Timothy 2:12) nor to be his slave, to be abused, despised, or trampled under his feet; but to be kindly treated, and used like a companion, with moderation, respect, and affection. "She shall be called Woman (Heb. Isshah), his feminine self, because she was taken out of Man (Heb. Ish)." Adam instinctively recognizes her relation to himself as "bone of his bones and flesh of his flesh" and her derivation from and likeness to man (I Corinthians 11:8, 11). By assigning her a name as today a married woman takes her husband's name, Adam immediately asserts his headship over her and her subjection to him (I Corinthians 11:3).
How long Adam and Eve enjoyed their simple happiness after marriage is left untold. The indications of time are less numerous and definite after the creation of Eve than before; but certainly Adam was for some considerable period a denizen of Paradise, and probably there was a longer time than is generally supposed spent in innocence by him and his wife, and also some delay between the Fall and their expulsion from their happy home. When a man has a wife, he has a more or less agreeable situation, depending on the circumstances. But if he has two wives, he doesn't simply have twice as much wife. Or twice as much marriage. Or twice as much satisfaction. Or twice as much misery, as the case may be. It is something altogether different.
"Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and cleave unto his wife, and they shall become one flesh," are not to be regarded as the words of Adam, because even if he had given prophetic utterance to his perception of the mystery of marriage, he could not have spoken of father and mother. These are the words of Moses, written to exhibit marriage as the deepest corporeal and spiritual unity of man and woman, and to hold up monogamy before the eyes of the people of Israel as the form of marriage ordained by God. By quoting Moses' utterance Christ vindicated his divine revelation (Matthew 19:4-6). No second rib was to be taken; only one woman was made for Adam, though many were afterwards born of him. So also will it be with the last Adam: He, too, will have but one heavenly Bride, the Church of the First-born—they that are His at His (Gk.) parousia Coming, or "Presence" right NOW (Ephesians 5:25-32; I Thessalonians 4:16; Revelation 10:1-11; 16:15). This Body will be completed during His "Presence." We must not "hide ourselves from the Presence of God" like Adam and Eve, or "go out from the Presence of the LORD" (Heb.) YHWH like Cain," but rest and mature in Christ's "Presence."
"Leaving father and mother" shows the conjugal union to be a spiritual oneness, a vital communion of heart as well as of body, in which it finds its consummation in a new family under the name and headship of the husband. This union is of a totally different nature from that of parents and children; hence marriage between parents and children is entirely opposed to the ordinance of God. Marriage is a holy appointment of God; hence celibacy is not a higher or holier state, and the relation of the sexes for a pure and holy man is a pure and holy relation as shown in Genesis 2:25, "They were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed," their bodies were sanctified by the spirit which animated them. Shame entered with sin, which destroyed the normal relation of the spirit to the body, exciting tendencies and lusts which warred against the soul, and turning the sacred ordinance of God into sensual impulses and the lust of the flesh. They needed no clothes for defence against cold or heat, for neither could be injurious to them: they needed none for ornament. Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. They needed none for decency: they were naked, and had no reason to be ashamed. They knew not what shame was. Blushing is now the colour of virtue, but it was not the colour of innocence. This description of perfect childlike innocence belongs naturally to beings who as yet knew neither good nor evil. This is not the conclusion of the marriage section, where it would be indelicate, but the introduction to the account of the temptation, where it prepares the way for the Fall. Where there is a play upon words in two verses. Man is naked (Heb.) aroum whereas "the serpent was more subtle or crafty (Heb.) aruwm than any domestic beast which the LORD God (Heb.) YHWH Elohim had made." In guileless simplicity Eve was seduced, and bore Lucifer's vicarious son Cain, the seed of the Serpent.
Wedded union is the sum and type of every social tie. It gives rise and scope to all the nameless joys of home. It is the native field for the cultivation of all the social virtues. It provides for the due framing and checking of the overgrowth of interest in self, and for the gentle training and fostering of a growing interest in others. It unfolds the graces and charms of mutual love, and imparts to the susceptible heart all the peace and joy, all the light and fire, all the frankness and life of conscious and constant purity and good-will. Friendship, brotherly-kindness, and love are still hopeful and sacred names among mankind. nl1078.htm
